The French Embassy and the French Healthcare Alliance in China held its 6th Sino-French Medical Day (SFMD) in Shenzhen on October 31, 2020. The SFMD is a one-day event gathering Chinese and French experts to discuss best practices in healthcare management, with a focus on selected therapeutic or transversal topics. More than 230 high level Chinese and French experts (local authorities & policymakers, physicians, scientists, hospital executives and journalists) joined this 2020 edition.
Among the speakers were the French Ambassador in China M. Laurent BILI, the Deputy General Secretary of the Shenzhen Municipal Government M. LIU Ang, the President of the French Scientific Council for Covid-19 Pr. Jean-François DELFRAISSY, the Chief Epidemiologist at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention Pr. WU Zunyou, the President of the Chinese Alliance for Rare Diseases M. LI Linkang and the President of France Silver Eco M. Luc BROUSSY.
Along with the French Ambassador, Mme Siv-Leng CHUOR, the French General Consul in Guangzhou, also attended the plenary session, which was hosted by Mme Anne BRUANT, Counsellor for Health and Labour of the French Embassy.
This 2020 edition of the SFMD consisted in an institutional and medical seminar with presentations by more than 20 Chinese and French key opinion leaders. The plenary session was dedicated to the management of the Covid-19 pandemic and was followed by 3 medical conferences dedicated to the following topics:
- Elderly care, hosted by M. Olivier DESSAJAN, Director of Colisée China and Co-chairman of the French Healthcare Alliance;
- Rare diseases, hosted by Mme MA Tao, Vice-secretary General of the patient group “Illness Challenge foundation”;
- Control and prevention of infectious disease, hosted by Mme LU Guoping, Vice-president of bioMérieux China.
This 6th edition was co-organized by the French Embassy, Business France and the French Healthcare Alliance in China in cooperation with the Shenzhen Municipality. 10 French companies (Axa, Biomérieux, Colisée, Ethypharm, Ipsen, ISRP, Legrand, Sanofi, Sanofi-Pasteur and Urgo Foundation) supported this event as members of the French Healthcare Alliance in China.
Previous SFMD were organized from 2015 in Hangzhou, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Beijing.
